Control of the measuring machine, operation of the sensors and evaluation of the measurement

Modern multisensor coordinate measuring machines cover a wide range of tasks of varying complexity. The qualifications of the machine operators range from employees with little training, who only occasionally measure a few sizes, to specialists who utilise all the technically feasible options to perform even very difficult measuring tasks.

Modular structure

The very different working methods are optimally supported by the structure of the software for machine operation (WinWerth®). For example, there are several access levels that are tailored to the different qualification levels of the operators. Interfaces to CAD systems for importing nominal data and to CAQ systems for statistical evaluation allow the coordinate measuring machines to be customised for integration into company software structures.

Standardised software for all machines

The software has a modular structure in order to fulfil the most diverse requirements. This means that different machines, from simple measuring projectors to complex multisensor coordinate measuring machines or even X-ray tomography sensors, can be operated using standardised software. The various software modules, e.g. for controlling the mechanical axes, for scanning with measuring sensors, for evaluation with image processing or for reconstructing 3D volumes from radiographic images when scanning tomographically, are operated in all operating modes and the processes are coordinated via the user interface of the measurement software. Special functions for standardised workpieces such as gears, tap drills or hobs and modules for contour evaluation or roughness measurement complete the scope of functions for measuring standard geometries.

Simple operation thanks to customised configuration

The desired software modules and configurations of the user interface are activated password-controlled according to the application. Each user can be provided with exactly the functions and tools that they need and are familiar with. This contributes to the simplest possible machine operation.
